Digital Marketing Assistant

Cavendish Jewellers has been established in its current premises in the heart of fashionable York for over 14 years and has traded in the city for over 25 years. This National Association of Jewellers member has enjoyed substantial growth and success in every year of its existence.

The owners travel internationally to source glorious merchandise to showcase. As a consequence, they have one of the largest and most unique selections of antique and second-hand jewellery in the region, which in addition to ranges of new jewellery enable them to attract a growing list of clients both locally and nationally. They also have a well-established online sales department.

About the role:

They now wish to invest in a full time Digital Marketing Assistant to join their successful team of 14 to work in this very busy, friendly, family owned and run business.

This role will provide an opportunity to gain experience in a very broad range of product and services due to their vast inventory of precious items, each with its inherent value and story, demanding appreciation and awareness from all their sales personnel.


- Thorough understanding of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Instagram

- Develop a social media content calendar, prepare, schedule and post creative and engaging written content, capture and edit photo and video content on a regular basis and engage with followers

- Work with the owner / directors and marketing consultancy to drive KPIs including website traffic, online sales, social following, conversations, engagement and mailing list subscriptions

- Contribute to developing the annual digital marketing strategy

- Update website administration and maintain CRM database

- Cataloguing and photographing stock on EPOS system, generating website listings and uploading to website backend

- Communicating with customers via telephone and email

- Fulfil customer orders

- Liaise with in-house repairs department and other internal resources

 About you:

 Computer literate with a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook

- Experience of Photoshop and video creation would be an advantage

- Strong written and verbal communication skills

- Experience of working in a customer facing environment

- Excellent organisational skills and able to multi task effectively

- Use your own initiative and work unsupervised to deadlines

 In addition to intensive in house training you will be given the opportunity should you choose to further your career via company funding of your studies towards the Retail Jewellers Diploma, a well-respected and recognised professional qualification.

 You may have experience of the following: Social Media Coordinator, Digital Marketing Executive, Social Media Executive, Content Marketing Executive, Marketing Coordinator, Marketing Assistant, Marketing Executive, Content Marketing Assistant, Content Marketing Executive, etc.
